Set in Battersea in London, England, Rockford’s Rock Opera tells the story of a boy called Moog and his dog, Rockford, who travel to the mystical Island of Infinity where they fight to save the human race from extinction. Following in the footsteps of major British hits like Harry Potter, Rockford’s Rock Opera’s blend of thoughtful storytelling, humour and great songs has proved to have real appeal to US audiences.

And, the fact that the story and www.RockfordsRockOpera.com website, are packed with educational img materials has led to an extensive audience for the story in schools. Over 3,000 US junior schools are now registered on the Rockford’s Rock Opera website and using the story, songs, animations and resources in class.

OFFER: We have 50 Exclusive Web membership to give away to the Rockfords Rock Opera Website! Blogger with a Min of 4,000 unique visitors each month are invited to receive an exclusive membership subscription. They can navigate the site, unlock all parts of the story and download exclusive content.

Now on DVD, CD and available via Apple Apps, Rockford’s Rock Opera is becoming available to even more families.

Co creator, Matthew Sweetapple, said: “We love hearing from our fans in the USA. Although the Rockford adventure starts in England and there are lots of English voices, its a story about our planet.”

Writing about Rockford’s Rock Opera, the London Times said:

“Rockford’s Rock Opera is an amazing mix of story, songs and sound effects. It has a freshness that makes you smile as you listen and could become a cult favourite.”

Here is a great plugin that we have been using since 2009. Best of all the developer of this admin dashboard wordpress plugin stays on top of wordpress updates and keeps the plugin up to date. As of today the latest update was just nine days ago!

Admin Management Xtended

Before installing the admin management plugin – you have to open every post edit page to make any changes. Take a look at the view all posts admin panel:

After installing the Admin Management Xtended wordpress plugin you will seethe edit options right there on the post admin page:

Some of the key features include a quick means to:

change the author

view the number of comments (and open them)

edit the categories

add tags

adjust the post order

turn comments on or off

change the publications date

An example of when this is really handy- when you are cleaning up your posts categories.

Most of the reviews I give don’t include an endorsement but this time – I actually can say I have used this plugin on EVERY WordPress blog I have created or managed since 2012 so I give it two thumbs up!

Of course – ALWAYS back up before you install any new plugin and remember that plugins can conflict with each other.

You have probably noticed Facebooks new time line. Either because you are already using it or you have been like our founder Kay been fighting the switch over to Facebook’s new timeline.

Unfortunately you can’t hold out forever so we thought we’d share a few tips about Facebook’s new timeline and …

put up a contest for a CUSTOM designed cover image (because we haven’t found a Facebook timeline cover generator that doesn’t squish up your photos yet). See bottom of post.

Our Facebook timeline tips:

1) Privacy.

Facebook’s timeline makes bring up past status updates, photos, and events more visible. Did you rant and rave about a family member last year? It could make a more visible appearance on your new timeline.

A) Adjust privacy on each post. You can hide a Facebook timeline element by clicking on the pencil image at the top of the offending status and choose hide from timeline.

Any previous privacy settings you had still apply, so if you set a photo to be for ‘family’ only, it will remain that way.

You can control what appears on your Facebook time line using your Activity Log which displays every post and activity from the day you joined Facebook to right this minute.
“You’ll see two dropdown menus next to each story in your activity log. The first lets you adjust the privacy of your posts, or it shows you the privacy setting if it’s a story created by a friend (like when someone writes on your timeline or tags you in a post). The second dropdown menu controls the visibility of the story on your timeline and gives you the option to hide, allow or feature the story on your timeline. You also have the option to permanently delete anything you post on Facebook” http://www.facebook.com/help/activitylog

B) Review and adjust your privacy settings. You can set ALL of your previous posts to friends only on your Privacy Settings page. It is a good idea to always review the privacy settings page when Facebook launches a new layout. http://www.facebook.com/settings/?tab=privacy

2) Layout and design

Facebook’s new timeline is a big change from the old profile page. There are two things you should do to update your profile to the new timeline layout; create a cover and add past content.

A) The Time Line Cover. You will find there are tons of new aps and pages offering ways to create a new cover. However, most run the risk of requiring you to provide your contact details or interacting with a third party ap so be sure to research the terms of service and privacy policy of any ap you use to create a facebook time line cover. Our suggestion- use photoshop or paint to create your own.

Facebook has guidelines around using your cover to ‘advertise’ a business’. We recommend that you keep it ‘personal’ but include your blogs colours and fonts to help brand your blog.

B) Your timeline events. See that time line? Chances are there’s not much from when you were BORN to when you joined facebook. You can fill this part of your timeline quite easily by going back and adjusting the dates of any photos you have previously uploaded.

If you want to add a special event in the past, it is as easy as creating new content and setting the date. For example, our founder may want to add “Came up with the idea of Her Media” which occurred in 2003. Easy peasy. Just create a new status and date it.

Yes we said there was a contest. Use the raffle copter form below to be entered to win a custom timeline cover. (Winner can choose from 4 background and provide up to 8 photos and their text.)

Our Blog of the Day is inspiring me to get up and get exercising? Why? All of the amazing fashions you can find at Style PA!

They are covering some amazing fashion brands in a unique ‘Brands A-Z’ format and that is why they are our blog of the day. A key component to a successful blog is for your blog to have some unique features like Style PA’s unique blogging theme of brands by A-Z.

As a self proclaimed geek I don’t stay up to date on fashion – I suppose I’d be booed right out New York.

You know the feeling you get when you find a blogger that just impresses you? That’s how we felt about Jenna after visiting her blog. She’s real. Creatively challenged (she blogs because she can’t scrapbook), has migraines, and bad hair days. Yet despite all those things, she has a wonderful optimistic and peaceful outlook that comes through in her blogging. Today we are featuring and interviewing Jenna of Jenna’s Journey here on Blog Pr Wire.

Why did you start your blog?

Originally, I started my blog to chronicle our infertility journey. At that point we’d been through 2 years of IF, and we were told we would have to do IVF if we ever wanted to have kids. The next month, I ended up pregnant – on our own, with no assistance! So, it ended up chronicling our pregnancy and my sons stay in the NICU.

What Blog Platform do you use? Blogger

What is your favourite Blogger gadget? I love the Popular Posts option that Blogger offers. I enjoy seeing what people are loving reading!

Share a tip on how you promote your blog:)

I’m not big on self promotion. In fact, I really don’t do it. People find my blog via Pinterest, Twitter, and even forums. I’ve seen a lot of traffic come from places like Baby Center. I used to be a great commenter, but with a 1 and 2 year old, I’ve slacked off. I think, in general, a lot of times bloggers find each other via comments.

Tell us a bit more about your blog and your upcoming goals for your blog;

My blog has grown so much in the past few months. I’ve branched out content wise – posting more things that I think people really find useful. I’m sharing How-To’s and recipes and doing giveaways. My blog is still centered around my family and I’ll never post anything that isn’t meaningful to me first. Sometimes in BlogLand, it can become a hoarding of information instead of a sharing platform. I’m a sharer – I love helping other people learn how to do things, and my blog is my platform to do that.

Now, not only am I a Mommy Blogger, but I’m a Food Blogger too! I love sharing my recipes and giving other families fast, easy, healthy meal ideas.

—————-

Most of the bloggers at BlogPrWire consider themselves a professional blogger.

However, being a professional blogger is more then just writing on a blog platform. It’s knowing your industry (Internet Publishing) and meeting industry standards. So if you find yourself answering yes to any of the following , it is time to make some changes;

1. You don’t own your own domain name. You can get your own domain name at Go Daddy for just $7.49 using a coupon. Every large brand, PR rep, and business knows this, so if you are using a sub domain like .blogspot.com you are missing out on opportunities and havn’t made the professional blogger cut yet ;)

2. Your blog is not branded. It’s not hard to make a logo. Select a font to provide consistency and a VECTOR image (which can be purchase at Dreamstime.com for less than five dollars). Start with a HIGH RESOLUTION (300 dpi) that can be sized down. Don’t know what we are talking about – consider getting help from Fivverr.com

3. Your blog design (CSS STYLES) stinks. i.e. highlighted every where – dark backgrounds light text. There are design standards for a reason ;) Not sure if yours stinks? Create a poll for free and ask all your tweeples and Facebook friends to anonymously provide their real opinions.

4. Your images are blurry or look like 1989 clip art. Stock art is not that expensive for blog usage and your caera phone probably takes half decent images, that when sized down properly to an average 200 by 200 pixels will look crisp on a browser so there’s no excuse for blurry bad images on your blog.

5. Speaking of images… Your blog either doesn’t have a professional looking profile headshot or it is more then one year old. Easy to solve – snap some on your cell phone and head over to fivverr.com to get someone to ‘airbrush’ you for just $5.00.

Don’t believe me? Head over to Mom Crunch and read Five ways you look digitally unprofessional
