Top 10 Hot Trends for 2010 Plus Size Prom Dresses

Posted on : 10-02-2010 | By : Blog PR Wire | In : Press Releases

February 10 2010 , Maryland Heights, MO

For Prom 2010, big girls want to look nothing less than gorgeous wearing all the hot trends, from sexy one-shoulder designs to swirling prints to flirty short Prom dresses.

The Prom dresses 2010 season is in full swing, and there’s never been more fabulous fashion choices, especially for curvy teens looking for plus size dresses.

Phyllis Brasch Librach, president and founder of Sydney’s Closet, announces the top 10 fashion trends for the must-have Prom 2010 dresses. Sydney’s Closet specializes in fashion-forward plus size dresses for any special occasion: wedding dresses, Mother of the Bride/Groom dresses, bridesmaid dresses, formal evening dresses plus cocktail and party dresses.

For Prom 2010, Sydney’s Closet offers the country’s largest selection of in-stock plus size Prom dresses in hard-to-find sizes 14 to 44 available in all these hot trends:

One-shoulder designs : call it the single clavicle craze wearing diagonal straps that show off a pretty collarbone.

Prints: bigger, bolder bright abstracts, geometrics, floras explode in all over patterns that swirl in high-voltage colors.

Short and Sweet: hike up the hem for a fun, flirty look that makes for an oh-so cute short Prom dresses.

Back Views: sexy Prom dresses make a hot exit with a criss-cross back that’s anything but boring.

Ball Gowns: glamorous skirts with side sweeps echo Hollywood starlets of the 1950s; fluff never goes out of style for the Prom Princess!

Juicy Ideas: light up the party in citrus colors like lime, lemon and orange that pop on and off the dance floor.

Go with the Flow: feel like an alluring Goddess in a flowing Empire chiffon gown that is hopelessly romantic.

Gem of a Dress: jewel tones rule in ruby red, emerald green, sapphire blue and amethyst.

Cut it Out: leave little to the imagination when you bare it all from the side and back.

Go Green: make everyone green with envy when you wear any shade of this popular color from light, fun choices like lime or kiwi to the deep dark allure of a gemstone color like emerald.

“No matter what your size or Prom style, you can find a designer Prom dress to flatter your curves,” says Librach. The trick is to find the right dress. How do you know? “The perfect Prom dress is always the figure-friendly design that plays up your assets and camouflages your flaws,” she says.

But what if you narrow down the decision to two dresses and just can’t decide which one to wear to Prom 2010? Librach offers a simple solution. “Look yourself straight in the mirror and go with the Prom dress that puts the biggest smile on your face,” she says.

Blog Boot Camp Day 3

0

Posted on : 04-02-2010 | By : Blog PR Wire | In : Blog Tips

It’s day three of Blog tip’s Blog Boot Camp. Have you read Day one and Day two ? It’s all about taking control of your blog’s content.

For many, creating a blog starts with us sharing our knowledge or passions (the subject matter type not the bedroom passion type- although I am sure there are blogs about that topic out there as well!)

We aren’t always thinking about planning our content and layout when we start blogging which results in a cluttered blog that makes it hard for your visitors to focus on your content and sponsor advertisements.

So far we have covered Blog awards and Blog top sites, today we tackle your Blog Roll. Before you decide how to display your blog roll on your blog, you need to determine WHY you blog roll.

For some, it really is simply a list of their favourite blogs, for some it’s about reciprocal links with very niche blogs such as theirs, or maybe you use your blog roll to list some affiliate links.  The term blog roll means;

“A list of other blogs that a blogger might recommend by providing links to them (usually in a sidebar list).” Wikipedia

However as a tool, your blog roll features can be used for a variety of purposes. So you need to decide WHAT you will use your blog roll for and look at what limitations you may have for displaying your blog roll.

I am a firm advocate for having your own hosted WordPress Blog. With WordPress you can find blog roll plugins that will allow you to post your blog roll in a page, by category, random lists, rotating lists and more. My favourite Blog Roll plugin is Advanced Blog Roll.

My suggestions (if possible on your blog platform) are:

  • Customize your Blog roll title in your side bar to increase your keyword content (i.e. change from Blog roll to  ‘favorite coupon blogs’ if coupon blog is one of your keywords.)
  • Limit your sidebar blog roll to list no more then 10 links.
  • Create a Link page to display your full blogroll list on your Favourite blogs page. Yes, there are plugins for this  such as this one .
  • Of course if you REALLY want to give your favourite blogs SEO love, direct links are better then using an automated system. So you could forget the page, rotate up to 10 on your main page and blog about your favourites instead of using a blogroll page.
  • I encourage using a follow tag and exchanging links. If you need the links back for SEO, trading with bloggers who have a default no follow on their blog roll won’t help you or them. If you are limiting your outgoing links, having these set to follow should not be a problem.

Customizing and cleaning up your Blog’s blog roll is definitely specific to each bloggers purpose for blog rolling. They keys are to; categorize, keep it small on your template pages (sidebars), and keep it up to date (remove broken links).

Cleaning up your blog roll might take a few minutes or hours depending on the number of links you have. But the organized result is worth it for your visitors and advertisers.

Until Tomorrow,

Blog BootCamp Day 2

Posted on : 02-02-2010 | By : Blog PR Wire | In : Blog Tips
Day one of the Blog Tips Boot Camp can be found here

Over the next few days we are working on how to polish up your blog and utilize your space (not content which is your writing  but space and layout)  to help monetize your blog and present a more professional  blog or website. Your blog can be fun, and suit your unique style while still ensuring the ads that pay you perform well.

Yesterday I discussed Blog awards, today we are going to cover those’ top blog or top site directories’ and vote for me links and banners.

Just like the awards …. ‘That award Top site banner provides THEM with traffic to their site at the expense of you keeping a visitor on YOUR SITE.’

A few things to consider with Top Sites.

  • Make it easier for your visitors to help you. If a visitor is going to take that time to vote for you, having all the links on one page will increase the number of places any one visitor might vote for you. Once created, you can make a habit of asking visitors on your blog posts to take a moment to vote for you and link to the page.
  • If a top site requires you to link on your main page, then you need to really look at that particular top site to see if the volume of visitors they will send your way is worth giving them that space.  Check the other participants to see how many clicks they are receiving.
  • If you decide to put their button or banner on your side bar – look at the banner the blog top site provided. If it does not clearly say ‘click here to vote for me’,  use a text link instead.

Today’s Task  Create a Vote for me page

This blog page  is where you move all of those top blog links, buttons, and banners.

The link for your blog’s vote for me page should NOT be in your header’s navigation bar. Instead, create a button for the page, or list the link under Pages in your side bar.

Pick one or two relative top blog or directory links for your main page – but make sure they are relevant to your content  and check to see if they are sending traffic to you. Placing buttons on your page that do not provide you with something in a rather well – questionable decision ;)

It’s like opening a bank account and then just giving them your money. With no return or service provided why would you keep giving them money ? You wouldn’t – you would go to the bank with the higher interest rate and better services right ? Your blog ad inventory space is your money.

Blog top sites are a free way to generate some organic traffic and visitors to your site.  I am not suggesting you don’t use them. Just put some planning into how you will display them on your blog.

Good luck !

Don’t forget to check out our contest – win a custom header, banners, and twitter background for your blog.

Blog BootCamp Day 1

1

Posted on : 29-01-2010 | By : Blog PR Wire | In : Blog Tips

I love blogs. In fact my job IS blogs. So not only do I enjoy spending time each day finding and reading new blogs and helping businesses utilize them for advertising,  I use blogs for information, encouragement, and entertainment.Yes, I also blog…

A blog is often rather unique to the writer. This is important and it justifies our ‘creative design displays’.

However if you in any way want your blog to earn you revenue or be treated as ‘professional’ in the online advertising industry you need to learn some basics. ( I didn’t say professional ‘to other bloggers’ because they aren’t usually the ones who will PAY YOU.)

Now if you don’t want to earn any money or offers from reputable Pr companies, media buyers (who have any idea of how the Internet as a marketing tools works), or advertisers then skip this series of posts because you may not like what I have to say.

Yes, cross promotion is an important way to get traffic and visitors to your blog. (Let’s face it without traffic, you have no readers, with no readers, is it really a blog?) However, NOT AT THE EXPENSE of your image as a professional blogger.

Lets take a look at your main page. How many outgoing links are on your page ? How many buttons, text links, mini buttons, banners?

If you have more then 20 outgoing links on your page template (sidebars, header, footer)  it tells me that your blog is cluttered. You know those boot camps people sign up for to get their house decluttered.

Well my blogger friends you need a blog DECLUTTER boot camp.

So lets get started. Today’s topic is Blog awards.

They give you a  warm fuzzy. But you know what? That award provides THEM with traffic to their site at the expense of you keeping a visitor on YOUR SITE.

So by all means when you receive an award, write a blog post about it – but keep them off your blog template areas. Unless it’s a blog  award from a REALLY reputable and long established group such as BlogHer or a large Internet site with thousands of daily visitors it does NOT belong in your side bar.

Today’s TASK:

1) Create a page titled Blog Awards. Move EVERY blog award you have received to this page. Display no more then ONE award at a time on your side bar or within your template.

Remember, it’s not good to create a page that just contains outgoing links. So consider your keywords wisely and write some content on the page as well.

There you are one step closer to having room to monetize your blog AND I bet your blog looks better.

Until Tomorrow,

January 8 2009 – Port Alberni, BC

Her Affiliate Manager, a web based marketing service, has announced a new formal relationship with CookieSurprises.com of Leesburg, VA. Negotiations began last December and a contract was established January 1 2009.

Cookie Surprises is an innovative business concept developed by a Northern Virginia mom and her two children, ages 12 and 13. They wanted to add to the family income, but wanted a fun way to do it. Since they all loved cookies, cookies seemed the natural choice! After looking at other cookie sites, they noticed there were only a couple of options for ordering cookies… either plain cookies or cookie bouquets. They quickly realized that there needed to be an affordable fun way to send cookies that stood out from the rest.

According to Kay McFarlane of Her Affiliate Manager “It’s no surprise that Cookie Surprises decided to come on board with our Outsourced Affiliate Program Management services. Parenting demographics is our niche.” Kay has over 6 years of experience promoting internet based companies online with Internet companies including; GreatAupair.com, ListPlanit.com, and Bravenet.com.
